Not on the itinerary

Our initial plan was to head directly to the municipality of Biliran to visit the recently opened 7-Eleven store.

This is the very first store branch here in our province, and we couldn’t resist checking it out.

But like any spur-of-the-moment plans, we made huge diversions at the 11th hour, as listed below:

  1. Travel to Sampao and pass the newly finished road connecting to Talustusan.
  2. Stop over at JNJ Paintball shop because we thought it was cool, and it was!
  3. Head to 7-Eleven Biliran as part of the original plan and for our lunch.
  4. Go home and take the day off because the weather is hot.

The Little Baguio of Biliran sounds cool

As you can see, our 5th itinerary was to go back home.

But we had plenty of time, and the weather was too hot. Little Baguio of Biliran was known for its cool temperature.

Hot weather, cool temperature. Sounds like a plan!

So off we go to our little detour.

Taking the long route

We honestly thought that going to the Little Baguio of Biliran from the municipality of Biliran would only take 15 minutes.

But we were in for a ride as we took eastward, passing Cabucgayan and Caibiran after hitting the cross-country road.

We reached our destination after about an hour, and my butt hurt for that unexpected long ride.

As we enjoyed the view, embraced the cool atmosphere, and took lots of pictures, we can say that our unplanned trips were very much worth it.

Why is it called The Little Baguio of Biliran?

This portion of the cross-country road is called Little Baguio of Biliran because of the cooler climate, hilly terrain, lush greenery, and tree-lined streets, giving it a bit of a Baguio vibe.

This place is also situated 400 meters above local mean sea level (LMSL), which is 100 meters higher than Asemco Hilltop Resort and Erika’s Nature Park

The place can be so inviting.

We parked our motorcycles on the roadside and took some photos. We also bought some vegetables and fruits from a few stalls there.

Meanwhile, a nearby store offers a Wi-Fi vending machine because the mobile signal is weak.

After purchasing, we took photos in the middle of the roads but quickly scrambled upon hearing passing vehicles coming.
