We Dined at Villa Celestino, and Here’s What Happened

A huge blackout!

While waiting for our food at Villa Celestino’s Bistro Breeze, the lights suddenly went out, plunging everything into darkness.

But this turned into one of the most interesting dining experiences my family and I have ever had!

For the first time in a long while, we actually found ourselves thanking the Biliran Electric Cooperative! Lol! Here’s why.

But before we get to that, let’s take a quick look at the newest buzz in town: Villa Celestino Hotel and Bistro Breeze.”

Overview of Villa Celestino Hotel

Located just a stone’s throw from Agpangi Brown Beach, Villa Celestino’s Bistro Breeze is the latest spot everyone has on their radar.

This new kid in town is definitely dressed to impress, rocking a Mediterranean-inspired look with a soft terra cotta finish that perfectly complements the stunning sunset views.

Hotel Facade

The hotel’s façade features large, arched windows on the second and third floors, offering picture-perfect views—especially if you happen to be swimming in the sea just out front!

The balconies are adorned with classic white balustrades, adding a touch of luxury and timeless elegance to the overall design.

Ground Floor Entrance

On the ground floor, you’ll be welcomed by sleek glass doors and windows framed in bold, dark trim.

The hotel’s signage, “Villa Celestino’s Bistro Breeze,” is elegantly placed on the exterior wall in a stylish script, reinforcing the property’s upscale vibe.

Roof Deck

The roof deck is undoubtedly one of the building’s highlights.

It offers guests scenic views of the surrounding area, making it the perfect spot for unwinding or catching a beautiful sunset.

You can even see the entire barangay from up there!

The Bistro Breeze

The hotel’s lobby also doubles as a cozy dining area, featuring a long table perfect for family gatherings.

If the weather outside gets a bit too warm, don’t worry—the entire hotel is fully air-conditioned, keeping you cool and comfortable.

Just in front of the hotel sits another restaurant with a spacious two-story dining area.

It’s perfect for hosting more guests and offers stunning views of the Agpangi beach sunset.

This, of course, is where we ended up having our unforgettable (and lucky!) dinner.

Dining at the Bistro

It was around 7 pm when we were seated waiting for our orders to arrive when the power suddenly tripped!

There was a total blackout, but the view was unexpectedly spectacular as dotted lights illuminated the distant coastlines.

Though the owner was quick to apologize for their generator not being functional, we were ready for a romantic dinner with candlelight.

Dinner and Some Nice Chats

Just as the power was restored, our food arrived—talk about perfect timing!

We spent the evening not just enjoying the delicious meal but also having lovely conversations with the owner.

He was friendly, approachable, and clearly passionate about making sure our dining experience was memorable.

Turns out, he also knows his drinks pretty well!

My sister ordered the “Celestino’s Delight,” a cocktail made with vodka, triple sec, lime, and calamansi.

When the owner realized it was a bit too strong for my mom, he returned with a refreshing margarita, which ended up being the perfect drink for the night!

Ordered Meals

Here is the food that we ordered for nine people:

  • Three platters of rice.
  • Five pitchers of blue lemonade
  • Leche flan
  • French fries
  • Buttered Chicken
  • Bulalo Soup
  • Buffalo Wings
  • Lechon kawali
  • Celestino’s Delight
  • Margarita
  • Bottles of water

You’re probably thinking, isn’t this expensive? Well, it should’ve been! But thanks to BILECO’s unexpected blackout, a good portion of our meal became compliments of the house.

In short, around Php 1,000 worth of our bill was given to us for FREE!

The owners truly felt responsible for their generator not being ready at the time, and they went above and beyond to make up for it.

We were both shocked and incredibly thankful! We wish their business grows by leaps and bounds.

Humble Suggestions

Word on the street is that the place is too expensive, with rooms starting at around Php5,000.00.

They recently dropped it to Php3,999.00, but still…

I think they should have rooms with competitive rates “for the people” and premium ones like those rotating beds in Vegas.

I’m kidding about the rotating bed 🙂.

While their menu is excellent, and I loved their buttered garlic chicken, the price might also raise some eyebrows. Not certainly for me since my sister footed the bill, lol!

But I think their target market could be those who can afford the rates. This is only my hunch, and I could be wrong.

Bistro Ambiance

While the seafront bistro offers a great menu, the interior could use a little sprucing up.

Adding some lively decorations— like art on the walls or ceiling—would make the place feel even more inviting and friendly.

The same goes for the roof deck restaurant.

It’s an amazing spot, especially for watching sunsets, but some nice, calming, or even upbeat music would really set the mood and elevate the experience.

Attracting a Wider Audience

Everybody wants to experience Celestino, but locals and teens may have reservations due to the price.

Everybody wants to bring their date to the top of the hotel (roof deck) and see the sunset.

If more people start tagging, checking in, and sharing their experiences at Villa Celestino’s Bistro Breeze on social media, it could help boost its visibility.

The algorithms will do their thing, and who knows? This might help them reach their ideal audience more effectively.
